Town and Country

In this exhibition I have selected pictures on the theme of “Town and Country”.

It is interesting to see just how different country people are, as are their activities. We live in the Yorkshire Dales and are surrounded by thousands of sheep. The weather is often uncompromising, especially for the farmers. Urban life is not so wild but is tougher in many ways. People have a different set of challenges and I try to show this. Recently I have experimented with almost abstract pictures and photographs of the old industrial areas of West Yorkshire.

Time, that’s the real problem. I have only recently started photography in a serious way and this is because others have been very encouraging. I still feel hesitant.

I have had two exhibitions in Simbach, Bavaria, one taking place in the Simbach Modern Art Gallery, the third is due in 2010.

Earlier this year (2009) my photos of Yorkshire were exhibited in a town near Modena in northern Italy

The nightmare for any photographer is not having a chance to display ones pictures, so I am very excited at the chance to do so at the Association of Jungian Analysts.
