The Association of Jungian Analysts (AJA) was inaugurated in 1977. Its founders were led by a desire to establish a position that could hold the tension of maintaining a symbolic approach to unconscious processes while placing core importance on significant experiences in childhood. In this tradition we are committed to an inclusive model of the psyche. We work with dreams and symbolic representation so as to open up the inherent potential for healing and wholeness, which Jung described as individuation. At the same time we equally make use of developmental concepts and pay careful attention to manifestations of transference and countertransference. Our position is therefore one of integration. We recognise a spiritual dimension in human beings, which can manifest itself in a variety of ways. We value a high degree of openness, flexibility and curiosity. AJA is located near Swiss Cottage in Hampstead, North London: The Association of Jungian Analysts Email: aja@dircon.co.uk |
