Agreement for Hire of Therapy Rooms

1          Rules of the House

1.1       There are three rooms available to hire for psychotherapy use and one seminar room available to hire for meetings.

  • Room hire is calculated on an hourly basis per month. Please note – this includes time taken to tidy and leave the room as you find it. All payments are required in advance at the beginning of each month. Details for a BAC’S payment will be provided on request. Standing order forms are also available on request. Bookings must be made for a minimum period of three months. A minimum of 4 weeks advance notice is required for cancellation of room bookings. We are unable to guarantee future room bookings following cancellations.
  • Payment during holidays:

            during standard break times – dates to be set by AJA – you will not be billed for two weeks over Xmas/New Year, one week over Easter and two weeks during August. You may continue to work in your rooms during the official breaks, however if your own holidays are not scheduled within these standard break times you must pay for your rooms during your holiday in order to secure them.

1.4       Room Rates

Consulting rooms £10 per hour (inclusive) for professionally qualified psychotherapists. Weekend workshop rates are listed on website: https://www.jungiananalysts.org.uk/roomhire.htm

            Rates will be reviewed annually.

1.5       Rooms: Each room is furnished in a set way and with a basic order.  This order should be retained when you have finished using the room. Chairs, cushions, rugs, tables etc. should be replaced in their usual positions. You must ensure that windows are locked, curtains drawn open and lights turned off on leaving. Check that the light in the adjoining bathroom and hall bathroom are also turned off. No food must be eaten in rooms. Books from the library (larger room) must not be taken off the premises at any time. For members and candidates of AJA use only. Rooms are to be vacated promptly at the end of each session.  Rooms are not to be used as waiting rooms for clients or between sessions. All clients need to be advised that this is a private property. No mobile phone calls or noise in communal spaces, ie hallway and stairwell.

            Oil heaters are not to be used unless there is an emergency (the central heating is not working – Please read health and safety instructions on the kitchen notice board and hallway notice board).

1.6       If you are the only person in the flat, ensure that on leaving all lights are turned off, heating turned down (18* in winter) windows and balcony doors locked and the flat door Chubb-locked.  Our insurance is invalid in the event of a burglary if this is not complied with.

1.7       An up-to-date schedule is kept on the kitchen notice board. If conflicts in scheduling, differing modes of practice, disturbances, etc. arise these should be taken up with the Lettings Officer in the first instance.

1.8       The Room Schedule is maintained by the Lettings Officer, and office administration, through whom all usage should be negotiated. There is no priority in scheduling.

1.9       Applications for use of the flat for purposes other than therapy should be addressed to the Lettings Officer.

1.10    In the event of a complaint by other room users against you, there will be a warning notice issued – If there are more than three warnings issued by the room’s officer, you will be asked to return keys and your contract will be terminated.

1.11    In the event of an emergency you should be acquainted with the various types of fire extinguishers positioned in the hallway and kitchen of the flat. Smoke alarms are positioned in the hallway and public staircase. There are no fire escapes in the building other than the main stairway and front door.

2          The Kitchen and general facilities

The kitchen facilities are provided for all Members and Candidates in Training at AJA and therapists using the flat:

Coffee and tea are always available. Provide your own milk if required; wash and put away utensils after use. Please ensure you do not forget food items left in the refrigerator.

The office is not available for general use and office equipment including office telephone, computer and fax system and the photocopier in the seminar room are for AJA administrative use only.

3          Keys

A deposit of £25 is required for keys to the house and flat. The deposit will be returned when the room hire is forfeited and the keys returned to the office.

Undertaking

I agree to abide by the rules of the house set out above, to return the room I have hired to its original order and to respect the need to be quiet in the flat while other rooms are occupied. I will advise my clients that this is private property. No mobile phone calls or noise in communal spaces, for example; hallway and stairwell.
