Through five hand-painted mandalas, exhibited at the same time as the talk and as part of the AJA 40th Anniversary celebrations, Brenda will show how her initial Jungian teaching, which came through the body and a twenty-five year relationship with a yoga teacher, is integrated into the psyche through symbolic images in her training analysis. She specializes in psyche-soma work, especially chronic fatigue syndrome. Through a clinical example she will show how lost energy was raised from the depths of the psyche and flowed into the conscious life of the patient once more, which finds a parallel expression in the mandalas and in psychological alchemy. Her personal story of the integration of two approaches to Jungian psychology interweaves.
