Graham’s paper begins with an outline of Jung’s approach to dreams with reference to points of divergence from Freud’s view. This theoretical overview serves to contextualise the three case examples of animal dreams that follow, in which he will seek to demonstrate the significance of dream animals not only from an archetypal perspective but within the context of the dreamer’s ongoing life and inner processes. In so doing, he will draw not only upon Jung’s work but also the thinking of Edinger, Kast and Hillman.

Graham Morgan is a Jungian analyst and Member of AJA. He initially trained as a mental health nurse, and it was during this period that he encountered and became interested in psychoanalytic and Jungian thinking.

Following qualification as a mental health nurse he considered and explored a vocation to the Anglican ministry but discovered that his path lay more in the direction of training as a psychotherapist.

Having trained as a psychodynamic counsellor, he then completed a training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.  Throughout this time, he retained an interest in Jung which culminated in periods of study at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich and subsequently completing the Jungian Training for Qualified Psychotherapists at AJA.

He has a longstanding interest in dreamwork and has also explored the interface between Jungian thinking and the therapeutic use of psychedelics.
