Keats & “Negative Capability”

Poetry and Psychoanalysis

Wednesday 17 May 2017 7pm – 8.30pm

Keats thought an important quality of a poet was ‘negative capability’ – the ability to tolerate what is uncertain or doubtful without rushing irritably to closure.

Dr Margot Waddell, psychoanalyst, and Dr Toni Griffiths, Trustee of the Keats Foundation, explore how Keats’s insight has influenced the field of psychoanalysis.
