Overview

On this last weekend of the seminar programme, we’ll spend some time reflecting on the practice of analysis itself.

In the first seminar we’ll reflect on the use of the couch, often seen as an emblem of analysis. We’ll think about our experiences of using it or not, and whether it symbolises anything important about the craft we practice.

In the second we’ll think about the practice of being an analyst – what difference does it make to our lives? To help us we’ll listen to late thoughts from Jung himself, from MDR, and from a recording of James Hillman’s controversial talk at the 1989 IAAP Congress.
