Overview

In this seminar, we will explore experiences and ideas that each of us might associate with soul, spirit, anima and animus, both in general life, and in the therapeutic encounter. Let’s see whether we notice any particular qualities and effects. There is no required reading, so feel free to come as you are, and if you wish, you are welcome to bring material that you might like to share, whether from personal experience, from your practice, or from literary sources, Jungian or otherwise.

Rough plan

– Gathering impressions

– Models and limitations

– Syzygy and fluidity

– Reorientation and wholeness.

Optional reading

– Jung C.G. (1954/1966) ‘Anima and Animus’ in *CW7*, pp 296-340, London, Routledge.

– Jung E. (1957/1985): Animus and Anima, in Spring, Putnam CT
